Listen.

When I write “listen”, I mean sit yourself down, click on the Podcast and just listen (that means no MSN, no e-mail).

I was recently enlightened to this beautiful music by a friend of mine at work. He is Lebanese and grew up with Omar Kourshid’s sounds. My friend also gave me quite an interesting background on this fellow. Although when I Googled him, very little historical information popped up.

Apparently, he was the Elvis Presley of those times. An actor as well as a musician (he studied from the age of four), he was the IT guy. At the time, he was also very political. Perhaps a little too political. He was killed in a car crash. At the time of his death he was dating the President’s daughter (reminds me of Princess Diana).

Anyway, my point in putting this music up – other than learning about Podcasts – is to share the wonderful sounds. It’s not everyday that we get to treat our ears and our minds with melodies such as this.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Ooo. At first it was reminding me of another disk I have in my car - I can't remember the name of it. Which makes me think that I shouldn’t even bother with telling you about it. But I call it funky world music. Lovely. Thanks for sharing. I will try to figure out what it is actually called and then comment again. If I find it. Damned ripped disks without labels.

I knew you would love this music. Every song has a different cultural influence.

As for kelly, we shall find out soon enough. Have you checked out the response portion of the post titled "Vanity"?
