Happy New Year

Ahhhh…a fresh start, a new beginning, a….uh….um…oh darn I’ve run out of boring clichés. Who am I kidding? To paraphrase my friend Andy, “Who needs a new year? The old one was just fine.” That may not be true for all of us but you get the idea.

I have never been one to make resolutions. I mean, I really don’t need improving *gag*. Seriously though, I am constantly making improvements in my life and they don’t just start at the beginning of the year. How do I know what I will want by the time July rolls around? Plus, making life changing decisions that have to last an entire year seems like a set up for failure. Instead I like to make short term goals and that way I can see my progress, which in turn is a big motivation for me to continue my success.

I suppose I could try something new this year and make a couple of resolutions (in list format of course). Wish me luck!

1. Find a new job - It’s not that I completely despise my current job, I just don’t find it challenging anymore. I have hit a plateau and moving up the corporate ladder any further (in this particular industry) just doesn’t interest me. Instead, I have had a few nibbles of PR and I want, I want, I want!

2. Keep in touch - I have a lot of friends and family that I adore but, unfortunately, they live all over the world. We do chat and send the occasional e-mail but not as often as I would like. I’m not a chatty phone person either so that doesn’t help. But for Christmas I received a lovely stationary set from my mom and I think I should give the old snail-mail method a try.

***Thank you to all who read my blog and for all the support.
I wish you all a healthy and prosperous new year***
