girl stands proud
booth, cake and prizes
will no one come?

Today was the launch of a new employee recognition program at work. Of course, being one of the main people that spearheads this program I got all the…uh…inconvenient times to man the booth. You know, first thing in the morning [when people are too tired to care] and last thing at night [when people want to go home].

So, I wrote that poem while I stood there this morning. I know it is probably breaking some rules of haiku but my specialty is events not poetry.

Last time I checked in with the new volunteers the booth was jammed with people and questions. Must be the cake.

Either way, I’m relieved this promotional event is working out. It’s hard to make people care about things that you care about. However, when it all boils down the right balloons and cake aren’t enough to make it fly. You need to have a good program, knowledgeable people and a plan. The past few months of hard work for one day of success…and hopefully that success turns into sustainability.

We shall see…

tell you what, I'll send her a link to your blog but as sweet as she is, she also tough - so I can't make her do anything.
