8 things you didn’t know about me.

I was not only fortunate to get a nice compliment from Collin Douma but also to get tagged. So…here goes…

1. I’m afraid of the dark.

It’s one of those issues where when I go to bed and turn off all the house lights, I must do it in sequence where my back is always facing a wall and I’m never left in complete darkness. My husband loves to take advantage of this by hiding and scaring the daylights out of me.

I think I have already admitted too much.

2. I gave up the chance for a basketball scholarship.

Long story short is that I actually told my parents I wanted to focus on my education rather than just play sports. I still believe I made the right decision. (or i may just be telling my self that)

3. I have the greatest parents in the world.

Most people know this already because I brag about it all the time. My parents are the most supportive, most caring and most fun people I know. They have a perfectly loving relationship where they actually enjoy each other and are the best role models I can think of. (I should probably throw a mention of my brother in there…he is pretty awesome too.)

4. I can crush an empty ‘tallboy’ can between my scapulae .

I was much better at it in university (a lot of practice). I saw it on David Letterman’s Stupid Human Tricks and thought “Hey, I bet I could do that.” And I could.

5. I am insanely in love with Tool (the band).

This obsession is so deep that I don’t like to play their music when other people are in the room/car because they talk over the music. Tool is not background noise and it drives me nuts when people don’t understand this. Thankfully my husband agrees. When a Tool song comes on we both shut up and rock out. This is why I know he was meant for me ;)

6. I can name almost all of the bones in the human body.

This is because I have BA in Health Sciences. I used to be able to ramble them off as soon as you pointed to one but have gotten a bit rusty. It does come in handy when watching Jeopardy, however.

7. I recently spent 2 years as a Dealer.

A Casino dealer! Get your head out of the gutter. I dealt Craps and Texas Hold’Em at the Fallsview Casino and Resort in Niagara Falls. It was fun..but not a career. But if you want to know the elusive game of dice, ask me…I LOVE teaching people how to play. (Just ask Collin Douma).

8. I’ve been married twice…to the same man.

We had our “Big Fat Macedonian Wedding” in February 2005 and that same year, in May, we flew to the Dominican to do it all over again. We celebrate the May date as our anniversary (when we remember…which isn’t often!)

Okay, now it’s my turn to tag people. James, Todd, Rob, Paull and Krista. You’re it!!!

  • It's true, she loves teaching people to play. I only lost $27 with her instruction, Without it I surely would have lost the entire $100 I brought.
