What has over a thousand pages and is filled with useless information?

(no…it’s not the Bible)

Give up? The answer: Gold book.

Why do they continue to produce this? Have they not heard of The Google? Or do they just get pleasure out being so wasteful?

I visited their website (so they must know about The Google) and saw that you can REQUEST a book. You know, in case you missed out on getting this wasteful, useless product.

I decided to contact them to find out more (see below):

Why do you continue to produce such a wasteful, eco-UNfriendly product? Have you not heard of Google?

I also noticed that one can make the selection to request a Gold Book. Where is the selection for “I do NOT need a Gold Book”? I do NOT need a Gold Book and I get frustrated every time I get one (esp. when it is tossed, willy nilly, on my driveway). I would appreciate some attention to this matter. You, and your advertisers, need to stop being so wasteful.

I urge you to do the same. You are more than welcome to cut and paste from this post.

UPDATE: I received an email back from Gwen Shein, the Distribution & Listings Coordinator at Gold Book.

I am very sorry to hear that you did not want a Gold Book and yet received one. We would be happy to take you off delivery if you could provide your address. I will also put forward your request to have a “Do Not Deliver a Gold Book” option on our website.

Great response time! However, I will be keeping my eye out for this added option.
