While at work (on lunch hour, of course:) Rob and I came up with some social media insults. It’s not that we condone insulting people but sometimes it’s necessary. Here are some suggestions to use to show people how social media savvy you can be while telling them off.
Go tweet yourself!
Why don’t you go put that in your blog and aggregate it?
Put THAT in your Twitter!
Up your FriendFeeder!
I’ll SMPR-ya later!
Do YOU have any you like to use? I would love to hear them.
A career in blogger relations is all about building relationships and connecting with people. My job is very rewarding but the biggest challenge I have come across is staying connected in the right networks. Sure, the average person may enjoy using Facebook and another person enjoys using Twitter, but since my job is to be able to connect with anyone, realistically, I should be using them all (or at least most).
By using them I don’t mean signing up and leaving the account to collect binary dust. I recognize that if I am using a tool and want to be taken seriously I need to actually use it. This concept became even more important during a conversation with newly-friended Charlie O’Donnell.
One of his first questions to me was , “Why is your LinkedIn network so crappy compared to everything else?
It’s been on my To Do list since I signed up for it in early February. Things kept piling on and it kept getting put on my To Do Tomorrow list. It wasn’t a big priority.
That is until Charlie made that comment. He then kindly sent a link to a post he had written which explains all the wonderful benefits of LinkedIn and some great starter tips (My personal fave is #4).
I encourage you to check out my profile and also see if LinkedIn is right for you. Add me to your network if you do sign up…just make sure that you follow Charlie’s advice in #3
