How to properly answer emails.

1) Read it all.

2) Respond to all points made. Not some.

Is this difficult? I know we all get a barrage of email and most of it is pointless but c’mon now. It’s rude to ignore people, esp. when they make things nice and simple for you.

I simplify my emails, I number things when they are different topics and will keep the sentences short. I just wrote an email that looked like this:

Hi!

I have two questions:

1) Yada yada yada. Yada yada, yada yada. Yada yada?

2) Blah blah blah; blah blah. Blah? Blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah-blah?

Thanks,

z

When I received the reply to only question one I had to send ANOTHER email asking for their thoughts on the second question. I bet this person doesn’t want more, they want less. I sure don’t want to send more.

I just don’t know how much more simple I can make it.
