This is How I Roll

The fiance of a good friend of mine got into a pretty serious motorcycle accident a little while back. He’s alive and not paralyzed but he broke…well, just about everything. He even broke his femur in 3 places!

He’s in good spirits and doing alright now but because he broke a bunch of bones in his shoulder (and some ribs as well) he can’t use crutches, which means that this young, hip, active, athletic male is now in a wheelchair (until either his legs or his torso heals).

Anyway, you are probably wondering about the title and what it has to do with my friend nearly killing himself. Well, I wanted to get him something to let him know that I’m thinking about him and to cheer him up. But what? Cafe Press solved all my problems.

I sent him the t-shirt pictured above with a note that read:

Just cuz you are stuck in a chair for a bit it doesn’t mean you can’t look stylish!

We can’t wait to see the day when you can throw that t-shirt in the garbage. In the meantime, wear it proudly!

Lots of love and best wishes,

Zoe & James

p.s. Can’t wait for the wedding!

Oh, I forgot to mention that they are getting married in 3 months. Yes, the super troopers that they are, they’re “not going to let a few broken bones stop them!” (it’s in quotes because that’s what they wrote on the wedding invites they sent out )

He’s got a great sense of humour so I know he’ll like it.

Update: He got it in the mail and LOVED it. He said his favourite is wearing it around the mall. Oh, and he has made it to crutches. Not all the time, but some of the time. So that is also good news :)
