My sis-in-law brought me flowers all the way from Australia when she visited over Christmas. Think that’s strange? Well, these are flowers you can eat! Better yet, these are flowers you can eat after soaking them in an alcoholic drink.

These flowers are hibiscus flowers in syrup. The jar comes with a little drink recipe booklet but my fave way to enjoy them has been in a glass of champagne or sparkling wine (i think the aussie nickname for champange i ‘champers’ but who knows…they have a lot of nicknames for just about everything LOL). It looks pretty and the longer you leave the flower in the drink the more it will open up. The flowers taste like a mix between raspberry and rhubarb. You can check it out( the look, not the taste) in my photo montage below.

The best part about this gift is that I’ve never seen anything like this and I’m pretty sure you can’t get it easily anywhere around these parts. She brought a little bit of Australia to me!
