My dog has “successfully attended the Head Start Program in accordance with the requirement of McCann Professional Dog Trainers.” At least that’s what her graduation certificate says
Seriously though, the obedience classes were amazing. She is a noticeably more calm dog, much more enjoyable to be around and I feel confident that the things I am doing are correct (this is the second dog I’ve owned but the first puppy).
It was also fun to go to. Puppies need a lot of attention and this was just another fun thing we could do together.
The trainers we had, Lisa and Jenny, made a great team. They were stern but fair and explained things so simply. Part of me would think, “Duh, that makes so much sense” but sometimes you need someone skilled (i.e. a professional) to spell it out for you.
And I know, training is more for the owners than for the dogs. Even I have been noticeably less frustrated when she does something wrong. It’s because I now know why she behaves that way and the proper way to correct it.
Is she perfect? Heeeeellll no. But she’s still only 4 months old. However, she has even learned quite a few tricks, some of which you can check out in the video below.
I want to give a major kudos to McCann. They were wonderful, knowledgeable and very friendly. The facilities they have available are MASSIVE and they are available for questions pretty much 24/7. And when I left today’s class after thanking them profusely Lisa encouraged me to continue to use them as a resource, to call whenever I have a question about anything. Now THAT is service.
